Joseph Bau House is an authentic artist workshop that conveys to the visitor the amazing life story of Joseph Bau reflected in his wide range of creativity including movies, animation, paintings, graphics, literature and research of the Hebrew language, all spiced with his special humor stemming from his optimistic view of life.
In the heart of busy Tel Aviv there is a cultural gem, unique and authentic - Yosef Bau's studio which represents not only Bau himself but gives a glimpse of old Tel Aviv and Israel from the beginning to the present day.
The studio is perfectly preserved, with Bau's work area, the projection, editing and cinema room he built with his own hands, and the feeling that soon Bau will return from his lunch break and sit down to finish the current illustration.
In the entrance hall, you can get an impression of changing exhibitions dedicated to the countless works of Yosef Bau, watch the animated films he created and enjoy and laugh at the theatrical performances.
It was only after his death that it became known that he worked as the chief graphic artist at the Mossad and as part of his role forged various certificates for spies, among them certificates intended for Eli Cohen, our spy in Syria, and in contrast - for Eichmann. Yosef never spoke about these activities. The studio was used as a cover story for his secret activities.
Send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
